Trail Report
Happy Friday PC! Your post-Thanksgiving winter trails update for the weekend of the November 24th-26th...
We hope that you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving spent with family and friends and were able to #optoutside today and burn off some of those calories taken in yesterday.
Last nite's storm blanketed the Round Valley area trails with about 3-inches of settled snow. Not enough to get the grooming equipment out but enough to cover up the dirt and give us a starter base. Up at Bonanza Flat, we fared a little better with about 6-inches of fresh on top of the 3-4" base from previous storms.
With that said, if you're a Nordic skier, we're still another 4-6" storm away from being able get the snowball rolling in Round Valley. We'll assess the weather/snowpack on Monday and look into the possibility of getting something going up in Bonanza sometime next week.
For those of you chomping at the bit to roll the fattys, it's GO TIME in Round Valley, Lost Prospector, etc. The more fat-tire compaction on the trails right now, the better, so get out there and get after it!
It's high time to get those snow-dances dialed. Enjoy the new snow and have a great one out there! #trailreport

Thank you!
Yesterday was a fantastic fattie day!
Good morning PC! Your weekend trail update for this Veteran's Day (Thank you Veterans!) weekend, November 11th-12th...
It's a chilly 17-degrees at 8am but we'll have mostly sunny skies this weekend and temps topping out in the mid-50's by Sunday.
As far as trail conditions go, the freeze/thaw cycle is in full effect after last weeks storm, with conditions running the gamut from frozen-solid and/or snow-packed in the early morning hours to a full-on mud fest by late morning. And depending upon aspect, some trails will thaw out quicker then others. That said, your best bet to prevent trail damage is to get out EARLY and be off-trail by NO LATER than 11am. #rutssuck
Our team continued with winter prep this week as well as experimenting with some new wayfinding, "You Are Here" signage.
We'd like to throw a huge shout out the the Park City Fire Dept recruits who joined our team for a dig day on Thursday as we worked on a new, hand-built hiking trail in the Lookout area of lower Deer Valley. Once the snow was cleared we made some great progress thanks to their efforts.
Lastly, we say "so long" to crew member Sam Leonardo, as he calls it a season and moves back east to begin his winter gig as a cat-driver at Sugarbush VT. Sam played a huge roll in the great work done on Cousin Eddie & Family Truckster at Clark Ranch. Thanks for the effort, Sam!
Hard to believe but we're one week away from opening day at Park City Mtn... Have a great one out there! #trailreport

Thanks Sam!
Great report! I'm part of a group of 9 girls looking for an intermediate hike today. We're looking at Silver Spur, that loop? Good idea, or do you have a different recommendation for us?
time to consider lower elevation trails, how is Heber Valley?
Happy Ruby Tuesday, Park City! Hey, if the Rolling Stones can put out solid album 50+ year in, why not a Stones reference? I digress...a little trail condition update on this snowy afternoon...
We picked up a good bit of moisture overnight which turned to snow this morning and blanketed the greater PC area in white. The guys did some trail recon in Round Valley just after lunch and report that conditions are sloppy, sloppy Joe, so you know the drill- stick to the paved pathways til we dry out a bit. And this time of year the drying process is a super-slow one. #trailreport
Stay dry my friends,
Your muddy buddies

Mountain Trails Foundation How are the conditions looking for Round Valley this weekend?
Still sloppy?
